By Tony Klassen, this is a phenomenal recreation of one of the rarest and most sought-after Gibson, the circa 1930 version of the model L-2, the one that is a 12-fret ultra-light 14 3/4" box with their "Argentine Gray" finish and gold-sparkle purfling. Tony is an expert at capturing the true vibe of these gorgeous vintage icons: if you're lusting for an original, this is like finding a brand-new example. The plus side is tone: luscious, rich, sweet and fat. Tony has deviated from original specs in that the back and sides are Madagascar rosewood, where the originals are mahogany.
Some particularly nice features of this guitar are hide glue top bracing and an elevated Tortes pickguard.
