A new 12-fret 000 cutaway from Preston Thompson out of Mahogany and Adirondack spruce. It is simply and beautifully adorned with faux tortoiseshell binding and peghead veneer, a particularly nice touch. Built in the traditional manner, it weighs very little and sounds very big, with forward shifted pre-war X braces, slotted peghead, ebony pyramid bridge, ivoroid purflings, inlays and Waverly tuner buttons. Twelve-fret 000s tend to be really successful out of mahogany, and this one is no exception. Truly an exceptional instrument and heads above most of the contemporary builders.
