Gibson's first 14-fret jumbo, extremely rare, and even better than that, this one is in amazing original condition. The FON # is very faint, but using a trick learned from Mark Stutman of Folkways - use the iphone camera and then doctor the image to get more detail - we're pretty sure it's 14xx, and very likely it's Jumbo #1496 listed in Spann's book towards the end of 1934. The action is low - we know that it once went to Satterlee & Chapin in SF, so it's possible that it was worked on by the great Mario Martello; he at least replaced the frets with jumbo fretwire. There's one small, repaired hairline in the side, and otherwise it's gorgeous. It's very likely the nicest one!
