This is a fine example of the famous swing era battle ship axe. At 18 ½ inches, is is possibly the biggest jazz box, the size being a product of the stiff competition between Epiphone and Gibson. The Super-400 is 18" and so Epiphone felt they had to do them one better (as did D'Angelico, Levin and others). As you can see in old photos, many of the greats preferred the Epis, and from this guitar you can see why. It's in fine condition, with just one minor issue - the open seam in the back that we glued up. The finish is either an expert overspray or complete refinish. The action is low, the bark is really loud, and th tone is big and full and wide open.
