A powerful OM with clarity and warmth and full playability. The top and the back of the peghead have been refinished or oversprayed, everything else is as original including braces. The finish on the back of the neck has had the gloss buffed down, something we do often to remove the sticky feeling on the hand. As expected from the later OMs which have a slightly more robust construction (and deeper neck) due to the prevalence of heavier steel strings in those days. this one has a powerful clear tone as opposed to a more open, warm quality. These are generally great for players who play both fingerstyle and flatpicking styles and for those who like to drive their music with a stronger touch.
The setup is excellent, the neck is larger and more V'ed than the earlier skinny necks, and I haven't found any cracks. It's clear that it hasn't been played much lately, so we're looking forward to warming it up with lots of use (it's a tough job but someone has to do it) and seeing where the tone gets to. I'll bet it'll be amazing.
